A CA GIRL FROM NJ
Journalist, Host, Writer
DEBORAH ZARA KOBYLT
Thanks for exploring my website. A little about me: I’ve been an award-winning journalist most of my life, and I’m deeply passionate about my work, the people, and places I report on. I’ve worked as a CNN correspondent, covering news and entertainment, and at Fox11-LA & KCAL9, reporting on LIVE breaking news as they happen. Most recently, I’ve ventured into the world of podcasting to explore more long-form interviews, and created two livestream video/audio shows: Deborah Kobylt LIVE, diving deep into the change makers in society, from authors to philanthropists, moms, tech wizards, actors, athletes, and more. I’m proud to say our show has millions of views and downloads, is a favorite with sponsors, and has won multiple awards. Being passionate about my Italian heritage, I decided to start a second show, and founded The Little Italy Podcast, interviewing Italians from the world of opera, art, travel, food, science, and film who have made authentic contributions to Italian-American culture. I’m deeply proud of both programs, and the significant impact each guest has made to community and society.
I was born in New Jersey, and lived in Sarasota, Fla. and NYC before moving to Los Angeles with my husband, John Kobylt, a successful radio talk show host. We now have three sons and a menagerie of animals. I love the the beach, hiking, biking, travel, and writing. I’m also a fierce competitor, and completed the NYC and LA Marathons. My passion is to promote women’s causes, mental health issues, and advocate for animal rights.
Aside from my work as a journalist, I have hosted film and book festivals, TV specials, seminars, telethons, women’s conferences, and more. Ultimately, I believe we are all connected, one story at a time. Thanks for being here.
