Deborah Kobylt LIVE: Patrice Shavone Brown
Most people think “big girls” have low self esteem and don’t feel sexy, says author Patrice Shavone Brown, but she’s not having it. Patrice may not be a size six, and she’s cool with that. In fact, she’s happy, feels beautiful in her own skin, and writes all about her journey as a woman of size in her latest book, “A Fat Girl’s Confidence. I’m Fat. So What?” Patrice tells DeborahZaraKobylt she’s tired of media deciding that bigger ladies are of less value because they aren’t stick thin. Her mission is to empower others to own their worth, regardless of size.
Patrice has worked two decades as a mental health counselor. She’s a mother of two, lost her mom and best friend in 2017, and says she’s been through a lot in her life and can help others navigate their own rough patch. “It’s hard, yet life is what you make it. And it’s full of twists and turns,” Patrice Shavone Brown shares. I hope you enjoy our show with this inspiring lady. There’s a lot of wisdom to gain here, starting with self love and acceptance
